A Park Avenue is Pure Luxury

When the urban planners of Communist China design this new city's streets,they totally want to create a new pattern of grid,totally different from old road net of the old city.Plane trees were introduced into the central provincial capital,also the mordern pitch road and paved sideways.According to the plan,actually it did,establish several main street with park,erected aspens,or chinars and spacious pedestrian ways.
What should startle them if they have been told after 40 years,80% of their planning would be overturned by traffic pressures.As a matter of fact,today in the city,most sideway for pedestrians was begrudged with width less than 5 meters,when the main motorway with 8 lanes.But to derogate or castigate the early planners is quite unfair.Who could make a prophey of this?
